About Stephanie Moss, MD
The chart with her name on it
Her second year of medical school began with the reproduction block and ended with a diagnosis of endometriosis and infertility, after months of appointments and a laparoscopic surgery. She failed and retook two block exams, then took a leave of absence to focus on her health.
During that leave she failed Step 1 by a single point. After therapy, healing and months of study she retook it with accommodations, and fought her insurer for months to cover her egg stimulation and freezing.
The coat with her name on it
Today she is a PGY-3 psychiatry chief resident for academics at Rosalind Franklin University, previously chief for medical student education and resident wellness, with a Medical Doctorate from Rush Medical College.
She co-founded the Chicago Homelessness and Health Response Group for Equity, gave her first talks on trauma-informed medicine with the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians, and turned the path she had to find alone into the map she never had.
“Humanizing medicine means seeing the person, not just the patient.” STEPHANIE MOSS, MD
